a journey to motherhood

“Having a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart walking outside your body” – Elizabeth Stone

“I had my period delayed which rarely happens, i felt so tired doing stuffs i normally do, i was gasping for air after taking a few steps on the stairs, i felt like i’ll be having my period which never happened. What’s wrong with me? Am i sick or im just old?”

Those were the feeling and the questions on my mind before i decided to try a test. A pregnancy test that is.

So what made me decide to take a pregnancy test?

  • Tender, swollen breasts – yes
  • Nausea with or without vomiting. – yes
  • Increased urination. – yes
  • Fatigue. – a big YES
  • Food aversions or cravings – not really
  • Slight bleeding. – yes
  • Cramping.  – no
  • Mood swings. – no
  • Dizziness. – no
  • Constipation. – yes

6 out of 10 signs were a yes so we bought one and it turned out positive, much to my parents and my partner’s delight.

I’m 13 weeks as I write this, and i found out that I’m indeed will be having a child on a Friday the 13th (June 13, 2014). Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky? For me it was a very lucky day indeed. It’s like winning a lottery.

I had a few bleeding so we had an ultrasound on my 6 weeks and here how baby looks like:

So little that baby looks like a peanut stucked on my tummy. What amazed me is my next check up 2 weeks after this ultrasound was taken. 10502476_10152269268282157_6471881787189909796_n

The little peanut 2 weeks after already looks like a baby with his/her head, arms and legs. I never thought that in 2 weeks he will grow up so fast and that’s the probably the reason why my flat tummy before now looks like i swallowed a little pillow.

Me when i was on my 2nd month and it’s already obvious. I wonder why other moms doesn’t look pregnant in their 2nd month. I must be having a giant kiddo. Haha!

Today i had my baby’s heartbeat checked and we can now hear it using a Doppler, a device that they use to listen on baby’s heartbeat.

6 more months and we’re gonna see our little one. I’ll be updating this blog for this wonderful journey as i now start a new chapter in my life.

Summer is the stuff of dreams.

When adults sit at their desks, and children sit in school, they dream of summer. Summer is the time of infinite fun. The day seems to last forever, and the fun never stops. It is a time of romance, excitement and an enhanced enjoyment of life.

Somehow summer never seems to last long enough. It is always over before we get a chance to fully experience its power. This is true of all things wonderful. They always seem too short.
